Glass Festival 2019, Messums Wiltshire

On the last weekend in January, Messums hosted its Second Glass Festival. Situated in their incredible Tithe barn “Minimelt” glass, owned by KT Yun, was installed for the 2 day event. Each demoing artist showcased their incredible talents and created some wonderful glass art. The event shows the joy and teamwork that is involved in glass and how it is one community with all the artists helping to create each others work. Looking forward to the next event.

Snippet from Messums :

“Live demos by masters provide a unique context for understanding the processes involved creating everyday objects. Watch the alchemy first-hand as a master glassmaker takes a glowing orb of molten glass and skillfully transforms it into a vase, bowl, glass or sculpture.

Joining us will be Bristol Blue’s David Barry making a Venetian goblet, Katherine Huskie demonstrating hot bit work by making a decorative vase, Scott Benefield will show his signature Venetian cane work followed by Material Light artists Elliot Walker and Dante Marioni to complete the day’s events.”
